अहमदाबाद, गुजरात की गुलबर्ग सोसायटी मामले में अहमदाबाद की विशेष कोर्ट ने अपना फैसला सुना दिया है। कोर्ट ने इस मामले में 24 दोषी करार दिए गए हैं जबकि 36 को मामले से बरी कर दिया गया है। फैसला आने के बाद गुलबर्ग सोसायटी की पीड़िता और पूर्व कांग्रेसी सांसद एहसान जाफरी की पत्नी ने इस पर गहरा असंतोष व्यक्त किया है। इस मामले में कोर्ट 6 जून को दोषियों की सजा का एलान करेगी। जाकिया जाफरी इसेे 14 साल बाद मिला अधूरा न्याय बताया है। साथ ही उन्होंने ऊपरी अदालत में अपील करने की भी बात कही है। जाकिया का कहना है कि इस मामले में सही फैसला आने में अभी और कई वर्ष लग जाएंगे। इसके बावजूद वह लड़ाई जारी रखेंगी।

28 फरवरी 2002 को भड़की हिंसा के दौरान भीड़ ने गुलबर्ग सोसाइटी पर हमला कर दिया था। इस हमले में 69 लोग मारे गए थे, जिनमें पूर्व कांग्रेस सांसद एहसान जाफरी भी शामिल थे। घटना के बाद 39 लोगों के शव बरामद किए गए थे जबकि सात साल बाद बाकी 30 लापता लोगों को मृत मान लिया गया था।
